Bore = The size of the engine's cylinder

Stroke = the distance the piston travels from bottom dead center to top dead center. Not determined by the size of the connecting rod, but the crankshaft itself.

Bore and stroke is more or less what determines the engines displacement :smt045 [/u]

Bore X stroke X number of cylinders = displacement

You may want to rethink that one....

3.14*(bore/2)^2 * Stroke * number of cylinders

you were right about the stroke, but a little off on the bore, you said the size of the engines cylinder, that would be displacement, the bore is actually the diameter of the cylinder

pictures are better anyway

Thats what i say. Just wait until you get to bearing tolerances and crank end-end play. It just gets worse.

All this shit you learn when your trying to find a sweet core block.
