the CC306 and CC305 are a comp cam and the GM847 is a GM cam made by crane cams i beleive...
call up Comp Cams...tell them what type of cam you are looking for...power...driveability...type of driving and such and they will tell you what cam to get, springs you will need and all

Depending on your overall goals, don't be too quick to dismiss the Hotcam. It is without equal as a combination of a solid performance upgrade, driveability, mileage and versatility. It works well with an otherwise stock engine or with many other modifications. I'm running it with fully ported LT1 heads w/ 1.6 RRs, headers with modified aftermarket exhaust system, a little more compression and still have the stock bore and stroke. Aside from the numbers listed in my sig, it also gets 26 mpg on the highway. Oh, and the ET was achieved with 3.07 gears and stock converter. I'm building a 388 bottom end for it now but will continue to use the Hotcam because this car's also a daily driver and sees about 15K miles a year including some long distance driving. The Ed Wright chip will work okay for you but a good dyno tune will squeeze the most out of whatever you do.

My car is a daily driver. Eventually ive thought about having my heads ported but for now they're going to stay stock. That cam came with the springs and everything too so i was wondering if i could just sell the cam on ebay and maybe use the rr's and springs that came with it and maybe use a comp or crane cam rather than the LT4 hot cam.

are you sure that cc306 would be a good cam to go with if i had stock heads? that seems like a pretty good sized cam for some stock heads but hey this is my first cam swap so im still kinda new at this.
