almost done with installing my new opti...

1. Remove serp. belt and intake assemb. check
2. remove crank pulley check
3. drain coolant and remove all hoses and water pump check
4. remove opti-spark check
5. Put new opti on check
6. put crank pulley on check
7. test fire the engine check

btw i disassembled the opti properly and discovered that when you're tachin 4grand in 2nd gear at wot on a 123k mile opti, the rotor explodes :smt076

so then i uhm...continued...to uh...further..."disasseble" the uh...old opti...yea :smt077

update!

it's now 12:04 am here...and i just finished eatin me some food...so im bout to head out...further progess(with steps still needing completion):

8. put new water pump on check
9. put fans back in check
10. put hoses back on check
11. put serp belt back on
12. fill with water/coolant
13. leave driveway sideways

Did you go with a delco replacement or the new MSD replacement for half the money and a better part (hint hint)?

i replaced mine 6 months ago....fun job...why wouldnt we get the LS1 setup or a real distributor lol....next time im down there should be the end of the summer to put in a cam....thinking the GM847 right now...
