LT1 proformer kit (heads cam and thorttlebody)

ok i've got to ask this this package according to the magizine i read said that you only get like 46hp with all of this, dose that seem extreamly low :smt022 they want like $2300 for it to!
some one suggested that i would be better off port and polishing my stock heads and put a LT4 hot cam in it and get like 2x as much HP
any ideas? any body have any experiance with this kit?

That deffinately is a low hp rating for an aftermarket H/C and tb! I'm not too familiar with the lt1, but I know the ls1 has a lot of h/c packages out there. I'm sure it is the save for lt1s. Try MTI they make pritty good products.

Don't know how it rates to other packages as LT1 is a different animal than LS1. If I were in your shoes, I'd do some further research first and see what else is out there. You may find that it's good, then again you may find for a little more or less $$, there are much better packages. Dunno??? Gotta look at HP:$$ ratio. :smt045 jmo

Honestly, skip that package all together. Just have your stock heads ported and polished with a nice valve job and add some better springs and rockers. Throw in a nice cam like a 227/233 or a 230/236 (depending on your headers) and you will be amazed at the difference. I would only use the hot cam if I had to pass emissions. :smt048
