i wouldnt go through all the trouble of a cam swap just for the ls6. what do you want to do with the car?

most of the people that do the heads/cam thing usually go too small the first time and end up going bigger very soon.

my fisrt cam is going to be big enought for now i think. its gona be an fms 233/241 :}}}

MTI is a very good company great customer service.

Really? i haven't heard anything bad about MTI. What kind of problems did they have with their 427's?

all of them dropped sleeves. and i think most if not all of the initial 427 they did dropped sleeves. one buddy had sleeves drop on 2 motors then had head problems. i can remember how long it took before the car was actually running again but it was months and months

im sure if you do a search on ls1 tech you will find quite a few stories. the buddy above is doc otis on there.

If you want a real intake that works for your combination, I can give you specifics if you can tell me a few facts about your engine.

I am running the GMPP Ls6 heads on my current motor setup. They are performing excellent. I have them milled for high compression, using the stock lightweight valves, manley Dual springs, and titanium retainers. My cam is a custom grind 232/242 on a 111 LSA. I am only running a LS6 intake w/ a ported TB, but it's definately making good power. the stock Ls6 heads/cam upgrade is decent. It's just that much more power and techniligy can be used to use a better cam, and have the heads worked over. I think you're thought process is great, just look at some STRONG companies that are being proactive about the LSx world. MTI is NOT one of them....unless you can give them a blank paycheck. It's been quite a while since their R&D has come up with anything new. The Sleeve problem they were having were from their old Sleeving process. their new sleeves seem to be doing better, but there are alot of much better compaines out there for built motors.
