Katech valvecovers, powdercoated metallic blue
We recently powdercoated a set of valvecovers metallic blue. They look so nice I just had to share them with you guys. They have a basecoat silver powdercoat with the blue over that. The pictures hardly do them justice, but I took 2 to show the different lighting conditions.

Well like everything we do at Katech, we have a level of quality we adhere to. My powdercoater has over 5 hours of labor into those valvecovers alone. To get the beautiful finish, we flat-sanded the casting to smooth the surface. Then for the blue to cover evenly, we first started with a basecoat of silver, baked that, then powdercoated the metallic blue. This was the second set we did. The first set we did not think looked good enough so we did not send them to the customer. Nothing leaves our building if it does not meet our quality standards. I don't know what powdercoat costs elsewhere, frankly I don't care. If people want to buy our parts and have them powdercoated somewhere else thats fine.
