you mainly have 2 good companies...

AFR (airflow research)

ETP (ET Performance)

Those are the big 2 for high performance but $$

Or you can go with ported LS6 heads or other Gen III heads for your application.

Make sure you do your research for what type will give you the best power for your setup/mods... because there is no "one best" head.

whats with everyone and thses what good or how to question. When you post a question about what is best lets hear about what you want out of them... do you autocross, drag race, daily driver, SCCA car, or what? We can tell you good brands but as for models and such we need to know what your goals are....

As what DanO said id suggest:
AFR's or LS6 heads... I have heard some bad things about Patriot heads and some other small companies. When buying heads dont go for the cheaper ones as you get what you pay for

This is a loaded question. You have to answer one thing first: What do you want to do with your car?

AFR 205's are great for stock cubes with a mid range cam. ETP's are basically the same as the AFR's.

PRC, MTI, and now even Patriot all make good heads. Basically you need to match your heads to your cam to get a good combo.

What do you intend? N/A power H/C, FI with H/C, H/C N2O, stroker, bigger cubes? What bolt-ons do you have for the heads? Do you want more compression or do you need to soften the compression for FI?

My vote would be for AFR 205's for a 346ci LS1. Although you may be better served by another option based on the information you can provide about your car as it is and the direction you want to take it.

For instance we have a MTI X1 (112LSA) through ported 241 castings. We were going to upgrade to AFR 205's, but now we are looking at saving for a 422ci with AFR 225's and a much larger Cam (like a MS3)... Of course we are running our current setup through the stock 2002 LS6 intake manifold and a Shaner S3 ported throttle body, with speed density tuning...

call comp cams and crane and tell them what you want to do with your car. They will tell you what springs to get. I mean who better to talk to then them?
