<---disagrees with the longtube freaks...i run mid-length pacesetters...u will not see any significant gains with longtubes over mid-lengths until you hit the 600hp mark

dont forget that you will have to have a custom y-pipe made if u go with the longtubes :smt069

I've got Edelbrock Shorties on mine and I wish I'd gone long tubes, BUT for $100 that's a good deal until you get to the part of replacing the bolts, manifold gaskets, converter hookup gaskets, possibly plugs, and all the time it takes. If you feel like taking the time to replace the manifolds on ur car do it right and go with long tubes and a matching y-pipe. Trust me you don't wanna hafta do the header swap again unless it's necessary. :smt069

I guess it's all in what you want to do, I am replacing a set of mac midlengths with a set of BIG tube kooks and a custom dual exhaust setup in preperation for some increased exhaust production. (healthy hit of n2o on a h/c/i ls1)

the shorties are ok i guess if you dont plan on doing any other performance mods after that but if you plan on doing h/c/i and that sort of stuff then just bite the bullet and go with the LT's from the start in the longrun it will actually save you $. :smt023

i agree , its all about what you want to do. If mo more mods will be added, except like a CAI ,airfoil or just small stuff, no more would be needed than a shorty header. If u plan on more extensive mods ie: heads, cam 58mm TB more aggressive tuning. Definitly go for at least mid lengths. I chose LG Tubes for the fact of going ahead and paying only once. i plan on Alot of extensive mods and wanted to get them out of the way. My friends are using Mac mids, and Pacesetter mids. Im not goiong to knock edelbrock TES's cuz ive used them on my camaro and i liked them . now after the LG Tubes though i could never go back to anything less that a mid length. I plan on using Pacesetter mid lengths on my newly started project. A 95' Trans Am. I know they will do just fine. Most all headers add some power. just some work better in the long run, if u plan on more than a mild mill. :smt023
