Putting nitrous on an lt1

I am familiar with carb/plate systems- but how hard is it to put notrous on an LT1 motor (WET KIT) . Anything that I need to know and look out for? HOw hard is the install, does the intake need to come off? How about increased fuel pump capacity? Anything else?

LT1s for a wet kit should need just a smidgen bigger fuel pump to be on the safe side.. and replacing the injectors with something alil more wouldnt hurt just to make sure of good flow... dont wanna run it lean... then bye bye cylinders..... but yea id still say talk to jerry about that more

personally for me i'm not a big fan of the spray i'd rather go with a supercharger or turbocharger but it's your car so i'm not going to stop you from what you want. :smt023

Its pretty easy to install. Most systems supply the booster pump in the kit if it is required.

if u have a cool air intake tap into the side of it and intall the fogger. its easy! and i do agree on a high volume fuel pump.

alright here we go....

intake does not need to be removed. You must place the nozzle between the throttle body and the MAF sensor as you do not want to spray through the sensor lol. Just simply drill a hole through your rubber. I didnt like the idea of drilling through rubber so i drilled through the end of the MAF.

As for the nitrous line run it inside the car under the carpet and up through the hole in the firewall behind the computer. Mount the bottle in the trunk or on the driveshaft hump. Also you will need a blowdown tube.

as for the wiring i highly suggest all of these: full throttle switch(mounted on TB), window switch(limits RPM's), fuel pressure shut off switch(obvious), and an arming switch. run them all off the negative wire as you do not want switches running off the positive.

For safety get a Walboro 255 fuel pump. When i dyno'd on a 100 shot i went lean so i put in the pump.

that is the basics. If you need help and want to wait till May i can help you install it.

This is for a general idea of mine. Since this i have covered all the wires and they look much cleaner

CLICK ON THE THUMBNAIL FOR A LARGER PICTURE

here off to the corner i make a little alluminum plate with the full throttle switch right on top of the throttle body.

Here is how i mounted my tank. The tank is now polished. I used a braided SS line for the blowdown instead of a hardline. It goes through the floor which is one of the rules to run on the track

here is the arming switch... a puch button purge... and the bottle warmer switch

and here is the polished bottle

larger injectors are not needed as the fuel is supplied through the nozzle. You only need larger injectors for a dry system...
