I think I'm gonna take the plunge! Finally

Just got off the phone w/Chris over at LS1 Speed. Got a pretty good price on a set of Kooks, Y w/Qtec's and all the other install goodies! :smt045 A weeeeeeee bit more than I wanted to spend. On that.....Wholly sheep shit Batman! :}}} One could say Kooks is mighty, mighty proud of thier stuff, ey? :)lol

Thanks for your opinions/advice on headers Erik, and to j0n........I'm takin your advice and goin for the 12's bud,......... goin for the 12's! :smt045 '[]= (or bankruptcy, :/// which ever comes first!)

I'll post up some pics after I've polished 'em up for that Bling, Bling look! (for anyone who really cares)

I'm so jealous, I wish I could of bought my QTPs. Instead I had to buy a new computer, old one was horrile(too slow). Just like you said "went to the store and spent a lot more money that I thought I was going to :smt022 Now, I'm going to have to waite on the headers for a month or two.

Why didn't you go with QTPs, you here anything bad about them 02BlkragtopZ?

Not really. I guess I wasn't that impressed with them when I called. Barry answered was pretty cool until I told him I needed some information on placing an order, (header style, sims c/o's etc..). Can you hang on for a second, he said. I'm like cool prolly gotta take another call. Nope he switched me to someone else. Kinda made me feel like I wasn't being takin serously because I didn't know exacly what I wanted. I pretty much knew but I was looking for some advise as well, ya' know?

So I then called Matt at TT Performance as he had a set of stepped Kooks that someone ordered and backed out on. In talking with Matt he explained to me that Kooks makes QTP's? Barry makes it sound like they are fabbed right there? Then we put up a post on Tech about a gp for qtec's and Barry chimed in saying they don't do gp's on 'em and if you want cheap and inferior products buy the other guys. Pretty much slamming the competition. And in a sense saying if you own my compettitors stuff, your stupid, as mine is the best! Just not something I do in my business. If I can't sell on my quality and customer service, then I won't resort to slamming the competition to make the sale. It doesn't work out good.
I'm even rethinking the cutouts from LS1speed, they are qtp's. I don't know I don't mind giving someone who treats me fair my money, like Matt or Chris did. But, I really really want cutouts plus LS1speed treated me good even tho ultimately the money goes to qtp.

I checked out there website, kind of confused, they didn't have any LS1 headers up there. There site is under construction I guess. From kooks, 02BlkragtopZ what size headers did you get? What price? Are they stainless steel?

If they are just as good as QTPs I'll probably just go with them. They are cheaper, right?

Yeah, didn't like how that guy sounded on the phone, but I'm sure he gets a little aggrevated talking to a variety of customers, must get fed up with it or something. But, still shouldn't talk that way that his product is the best..... and the the competitors are....

Yeah, if your talking about Speed Inc's website it's kinda weird. You put in you vehicle info, (year, make) then you get a column at the right that you can click on whats available for you.

I was looking at some stepped (1 3/4 - 1 7/8) 'cause I wanna do a h/c swap in a few years. But Chris said unless I'm goin with a blower not really needed. So I think I'll just stick with the 1 3/4. As far as price about the same, maybe a little more for Kooks. And yes they are S/S.

And yeah, I'm not doubting that Barry (or whomever) answered the phone was busy. If he had explained that he was on another phone call or in the middle of something and was going to hand me off to someone else who should be able to help me, cool. I mean I get tire kickers all day. No problem, after ten or so times of the same question(s) I may get annoyed but definately not the first time. And if I am too busy to help them and I'm gonna hand 'em off I definately let 'em know.

Yeah, I understand completely. I can be like that guy at work sometimes. I just seem very irrirtated sometimes because of the rugrats running around and bothering me.
