Well depends on how long the holes been in there. If it's just been for a week buy some bondo/fiberglass mixed body filler(can get it at wal-mart). Grind all the holes down to metal with an extra 2in perimeter around each hole, mix up the filler and apply it. Next sand it down with 40 grit than when close to leveled start sanding with 80 and finish it off with 150 grit. Next you prime it(epoxy is best) and if you see scratches on the primer apply a thin coat of spot putty than sand with 320 grit wet. than another coat of primer sand with 400 wet and if all looks and feels right you can start your procedure to paint.
