How too remove my side skirts from the Z
OK, so, there are f-in rivets afixing it to the rocker panel! I don't want to drop a bunch of nubs into the rocker and have my car sound like a piggy bank all down our gloriously smooth Michigan roads. I don't know why but this is how all the side kits I have seen are installed. I didn't put it on so it wasn't up to me and now I want it off. I am sick of clearence issues when driving those same roads and it will be a lot easier to work on. Not to mention that I doubt it is funtional so it is just dead weight to this kid. If I get them off clean i will sell em pretty cheap if anyone is interested. Anyone done this before?

Body kits on F-body = bad idea, cars sit too low as it is you'll get it scratched to hell. Body kits on any car = bad idea. I just don't see the point unless you're actually going 150+ MPH and it keeps you on the ground.

at 150 a regular body kit wont hold you down to the ground... it will flex, crack and break off...
Dont do it. You have a muscle car, not a import.

LoL, that's what I meant. Like the lower panels on an S7 or something like that. Not an aftermarket screw on kit, that would be funny to see though, someone's low ass bumper fall off and then ran over. Kinda like that one video of the white (Eclipse?) where the wing flies off on the highway.

I didn't mean to mix mine in here, oops. Hey Jerry, I have had my car over 150 with the ground body kit...and the crack that was already in the front spolier didn't even spread. Needless to say, the car feels better at high speed without it and I just plain like the cars lines without it. Anyway, mine is in good shape with the exception of the front end panel with may be repairable. I want to sell it so if you are interested, let me know, I will take $250 for it. It sells for $595 new plus handling etc... and a new front end panel is $220 if this one is not repairable. If you go to my website you can see it on my car or at RK Sport's site.
