Well honestly i "was" going to build a room out of a 10' x 20' tent and industrial shrink wrap, run a ventilation system out of several HEPA household shop vacs i have laying around, sandblast the entire vehicle with crushed walnut shell (grain 80) then use a metal prep on the whole entire vehicle and then use my gravity fed paintgun to spray the entire vehicle with gray primer.

Then i ran out of money so sandblasting it myself is out of the question and buying large quantities of metal prep and primer is also out of the question. So now i will have to rattle can the spots that i remove the rust from and then eventually next year after the rust is gone and repaired, have it prepped properly (sanding, sanding, sanding...) and then painted.

I wasnt honestly going to rattlecan the whole car, because it doesnt need to be, its really pretty much rust free, just the places that i bring to bare metal i will have to cover back up with something to prevent continuing surface rust.

Actually you should prime it with Epoxy Primer... Rattlecan Primer is nothing but Laquer in a can and Laquer Primer nor Paint has any rust prevention qualities... If you HAVE to use the Rattlecan, its best to use AU, which is Acrylic Urethane Single Stage in a can... Hope this helps

yes thank you!

I have been reading and learning as much as possible before i do anything harsh to the car, and epoxy primer bonds a whole lot better.
