i dont know. what is that thing where the gears are in your axle called? after i drive, its all wet, and the leak drips more to the right. at the bottom of this lump thing. ill look and see if it is axle greasy or brake fluid later on today.

Be sure to check your brake lines throughly. They run right across the rearend and if one of them is leaking it will drip down of the rearend housing.

sounds like the differential cover gasket. it happens alot.

Either

A. drain gear oil, replace gasket, refil w/gear oil

or

B. Check Fluid level periodically depending on leakage rate

Yes that plus your master cylinder would be low on fluid!! If your brake fluid is fine than I agree that your rearend cover is probably leaking!!

uh yeah....turns out its brake fluid. so the front(small) master cylinder controls the rear brakes, eh? didn't know that. tomorrow ill try to get it fixed before 1, cause then im leaving for work and wont be back till late sunday/early monday.

i cant quite tell if its coming from where all the lines meet up, or the line itself, for my whole "pig" as my father called it, is soaking with fluid.

checked my master cylinder, and it was empty.

so typically, i would have my dad help me with something liek this, but he has to work early, so im alone. is it pretty straight forwad, or are there any tricks to fixing a leak if it were from a fitting, and if it were from the line? im guessing its from a fitting, because if it were a line, i think it would leak alot more. help me out here, im new to this whole "fixing real stuff on a car" thing.

Well without another person finding the leak will be kinda hard. You need to fill the master cylinder then you need to get under the car and have someone pump the brakes so you can see where it is leaking!!
