lots of questions
my car has frame issues. its a 1978 mustang, so its a unibody, and has two subframes or something. i dont really know, but the guy who is going to fix it tuesday knows. basically, my car sits lower on the drivers side, not dues to suspension issues, but due to the frame and whatnot.
i know i shouldnt drive it, but i still do. well, today, i was out, and it was kind of wet, and man, i was gettin on it like an idiot.
so i start to notice heat coming out of the place where the tranny sits. at first its not too bad, but towards the end of the ride, my calf is HOT. i suspect its because one of two things, or probably both.
A. bad clutch installation. oh yeah, never ever go to all star auto, they suck.
or
B. slightly cocked drivetrain, causing gears or something to grind wrong, maybe the driveshaft or something, i dont know, but something grinding. if it matters, its a standard T-5 tranny as far as i know.
also, after a long hard day of banging gears, it starts to get really hard to put it into gear. my dad said its probably my clutch cable needs tightening or something, once again, im clueless. we both relate this to all star. if it matters also, its a hurst shifter. my dad says it also could be something in the shifter needs replaced, i forgot exactly what he said, something about bushings.
ALSO, after today, i was in 5th coming home, cruising at 45, so prlly around 2k in the rpms, and i noticed a ever so small whining noise if i wasnt on the gas. it probably is there all the time, but the conditions were right for me to hear it.
on the highway, my shifter makes a small noise too. i think im paranoid on this one though. hell, i may be paranoid on all the other problems discussed.
and on this one too, it happens on another vehicle in our driveway as well, but when you turn, you can feel a grinding and hear it slightly.
okay, there is my long winded paranoia endused questioning spree, hopefully i can get some answers. thanks for reading this far.
