Mass airflow sensor

ive got a 93 ranger splash 4.0L and i was wondering if changing the mass air flow sensor out would help out, i jus want to know if its worth the money

its only 120 bucks and ive got some intake work done to it. . . i want it to be quicker but i dont want to do too much to it, i want it to be close to stock unlike my car, the truck was my dads before he died thats why i dont want to modd it to much

well ok $120 isnt too bad, i would do it for that price.

If youve already done plenty to your intake you should complete it with the MAF. You wont notice a performance increase, but your engine will definitely be breathing better.

There are other people on here who have done MAFs, im a carb'd kinda guy so i dont really know much outside of that they measure the amount of air coming into the intake and translates it into a voltage signal that can be read by the cars computer. I dont know what an aftermarket one does, except that they can be bigger because of throttlebody size increases and intake tubing increases in diameter.

I was looking at a summit racing catalog today, it wasnt for your specific car, i think it was an L98 vette motor and it said it would produce 8-12 hp increase.
