NEED HELP!

Long story short.....it's all over on mustangexhaust, but I'm too tired to type the ENTIRE story so here's the abridged version.....(somewhat cut and pasted so I apologize if it doesn't read perfect)...

Recently had my transmission replaced - I'm not great with trannies or that knowledgable but I was told that it was due to a bad bearing and rod (or shaft or something) and it was cheaper to do the whole thing than the pieces. Anyway, lots of problems have come up since the install and most of them have been corrected but.....(here's where the cut/pasting starts)

I want my car to run normally again, but despite 5 trips to the dealer in 2 weeks (the whole ordeal from tranny to everything after) it's still fcked up. The IAC apparently was fine and the MAF was fine as well. I'm not sure where that leaves things. The car still doesn't idle normally...the RPMs bounce and it sounds like the engine is being choked. It used to always sit pretty constant at 800-900 but now falls to 500-600 and then quickly spikes back up to 900 and it just doesn't sound right. Something is definately not right! :smt076
I'm going to try a different dealership across town and see what they think. If that doesn't work, I'm gonna have to head to the guy my friend uses and just have the car tuned and worked on by a real Mustang professional.

I hooked up my G-Tech today for schitz and giggles and noticed that the RPMs on it would spike every once in a while...so much so that the shift light would actually illuminate. The G-Tech somehow is VERY accurate on the RPMs when I'm driving and I'm assuming it has something to do with the electric current through the 12 V outlet (b/c when I put my phone charger in the other outlet, the RPMs won't fall below 4k on the G-Tech). Why would such a surge be occurring?

Obviously something must be going on with the engine and I'm wondering if this new found bit of info might help someone pin point my problem. This whole thing has been a complete disaster from A-Z and I just want it done with. If I can't get this resolved I"m going to try what a member of MX.com said and maybe turn the car in for something new. I hate to say that, but I'm not sure what other options I have.......

Sorry it's so choppy, but cut and pasted the main points I think....if anyone can help lemme know and also let me know if any info is missing that might be helpful. Thanks in advance

Have you checked your Throttle positioning sensor? Or if you have messed with it in anyway you would have to reset your ECU. Your MAS may be dirty which would cause a surge in rpms. Easiest way to clean would be with some electrical cleaner from an autoparts store.

That sounds like a problem I'm having with my car, but I havent fixed it yet either. It's getting frustrating when my car wont accelerate for shit. Let me know if any of these things work. I may try them too.

could be a tps. get a analog volt meter and do a slow sweep and see if you losing voltage somewhere. alos make sure your not losing your refrence. Sounds to me more like a vacum leak, maybe when you droped the tranny it tore a vacum line, id check all them first. any hting down stream of the maf is fair game and will casue some idle and runnign issues fro sure
