Cheap speed!

Guys -

I'm a cheap bastard at heart. Most of my speed freakin' is done on a budget - and has been developed over the past 30 years without any real $$ in my hip pocket. I've had the benefit of having a complete machine shop at my beck and call, which meant that cuttin' metal was a more direct route to HP than a catalog of bolt-ons.

Soo...I have lots of tips and tricks to share which add quickness at minimal cost. It bakes my mind that any given bolt-on HP mod costs anywhere from $200 - $500, yet the ACTUAL HP gain (vs. claimed) is only 4-15 RWHP. I can get gains like this for with a few hours of cuttin' and weldin' - with little or no out-of-pocket cost.

You guys interested?

What exactly are you cutting and welding? And you can get a bolt on nitrous kit for 500 used. It will add more than 15hp :smt023

Agree with you on that - I was talkin' about catbacks, underdrives, CAI's - that sort of stuff.

sweet.

I did a custom sheetmetal nascar-style intake for my brother's Shelby Charger; pulled air off the base of the windshield. Worked well.

There's nothing better than sitting at your own bench with a die grinder smoothing yer own bowls. I've come to the conclusion that I like the *process* of getting the car to go faster more so than actually going fast!
