Just Wondering

I am a first timer looking to buy my first mustang. im looking for 1999 v6 3.8L automatic. My grandfather was set and ready to buy a doge intrepid until he had found out by several people that intrepids have a history of transmission problems. I was wondering if anybody had any information like this in relation to a mustang of this sort. Thanks!

if he is looking at the 2.7L V6 intrepid STAY AWAY!!!!!!!!!!

They have a history of sludging up the engine at low mileage (70,000-90,000 miles)

Oh and yes, chrysler is not known for their auto trasnmissions...

must be nice to get 300 on 1 tank. I have to fill 3 times to get that many miles and prepare to fill again. :}n

my mother had an 04 V6 automatic for 15000 miles worth until she traded it for her GT. it was a damn sweet car. nice ride quality. the seats could have been a little better, but i liked it. i have to say id much rather have a V6 stang over an intrepid.

3.8 MUSTANG

WE JUST DID UP ONE FOR A CUSTOMER OF MINE. THEY CAN REALLY FLIY WITH THE RIGHT STUFF. AS FAR AS I HAVE SEEN, THEY ARE A GREAT MOTOR. THE AFTERMARKET HAS PLENTY OF STUFF FOR THEM. WE JUST PUT ONE IN THE LOW 13,S. 411 GEARS, STOCK ENGINE REBUILD EXCEPT FOR DECKING THE HEADS AND A CUSTOM ERSON CAM, DUELS FLOWMASTERS AND OWE YAH 75 SHOT COMPLEMENTS OF ZEX . INTREPIDS ARE KNOWN FOR HAVING PROBLEMS WITH THERE INPUT AND OUTPUT SPEED SENSORS, THESE SENSORS ARE ABOUT $40.00. IF YOU FOLLOW SCHEDULE A OF THE OWNERS MANUAL YOU WILL NEED A MOTOR BEFORE 60,000. CHANGE THE OIL EVERY 3000 AND YOU SHOULD HAVE NO PROBLEMS IF YOU GO THAT ROUTE. GOOD LUCK
