older 347s had some piston ring problems because of the angle from the larger stroke, however that problem has been cured on most of the kits you see advertised through like CHP and DSS.
go for a 347 if you want a N/A or nitrous motor, i personally know like 4 or 5 guys in my area that have 347 strokers and they LOVE them. FAST cars too. All of them were 11's or better in street trim on street tires (ET streets). As long as your engine machinest is capable it should be a KILLER motor. One of my friends who was running EFI on his was making good usable power to over 7200 rpm. But the EFI was causing him headaches, and rather than go to a full standalone he just went with a 4bbl, he made more power, but with less rpm. Car ran like a raped ape till he parted it and sold it.
A few other friends with 347s have just KILLED it on the street racing Z06's and newer mod motor cobras on spray.
While we're on the subject of strokers however, For close to the same price you can build a 351w based stroker motor like a 408 and make even better power/torque numbers.
IF you plan to go forced induction(turbo/blower) i say stick with a 306 (basically just a .030 overbore) and some good rods. Invest that same money into some cylinder heads and a blower. Boost is the replacement for displacement. Hell even MM&FF had a 306 put 1000 flywheel hp on a blowthrough carbureted turbo setup.
A few issues back Car Craft had a whole article on Blowthrough Centrifugal supercharged motors.
