New Car
Well I can't remember if I told everyone that I totaled my Camaro over President's Day. A long story short (you can read my whole story on my CarDomain page) I was driving on a flat, plowed, and salted road at 65 mph. It was EXTREMELY cold out and some snow had blown over the road. We think that the salt and traffic melted the snow just enough and it being so cold refroze it. I hit a big bump as I went over the icy spot and my back end kicked out to the left. I slid perfectly sideways down the freeway, passed in front of a semi (don't know how it missed me) and hit a mound of plowed snow between the road and the exit ramp with the driver's side door. I flipped over the top of it, landed on the roof and slid across the exit ramp until a snowdrift stopped me. I was in the car with 2 of my brothers and we all unbuckled and climbed out the passenger window as mine was up against the snow. My brother in the front seat was cut up bad and bleeding everywhere, but I only had some minor cuts and my other brother didn't have a scratch on him. We were taken to a hospital and the two of us were released fairly quickly after being on a backboard for two hours. My other brother ended up with a concussion, 21 staples in his head and 18 stitches on his hands. By now he is perfectly fine. If it wasn't for us wearing our seatbelts and me not speeding we probably wouldn't have walked away from it. The pillar behind the t-tops saved our lives. If we were in a convertible... I still get shaken up about it sometimes.
Anyways, I just bought a new Camaro. It is exactly the same as my old one ('98 black V6 with t-tops) except in better shape and is bone stock. I get to start my modding all over again! This one is a manual and not an automatic, though. I am still not that good at driving it, but am improving rapidly at driving a stick. I knew how to drive a stick before, but this is the first one I have owned so the learning curve is a little steep. There have been a few embarassing stalls, but nothing too bad. The hills out here are a little tricky and are taking some practice. I graduate in 44 days and can't wait to get out of here and get home and do some cruising on Woodward in it. I hope to see all of you guys there!
