Can you afford a cheap beater? Having another car on your insurance as the primary driver could even make it cheaper than it is now. I got my Bronco II for $1600 and it needed absolutely nothing. I got my old Ranger for $600. It needed some work but nothing expensive. Both 4 wheel drive. There are lots of cheap rides out there to pick up for a beater.

Come on man, we don't even really have that bad of winters anymore. I'm prolly going to drive mine all the way through winter. I guess it depends though, some cities don't plow roads. It also depends if how far you drive for work or how much you use it during the winter.

How quick your roads get plowed would be a big factor. Clawson gets my street plowed ASAP! I have 4 wheel drive and didn't use it all winter last year. I tried to go mudding and found out one of the hub locks broke a while back and still haven't fixed it just because I know it isn't that big of a deal. Anymore I drive the Bronco II mostly just to keep the Lightning from being attempted to be stolen.

i would also like to get a beater car becouse now I am living in Macomb it is a hour drive back and forth and I would love to put the Firebird away and get a bigger car becouse I have alot of stuff I take back and forth between the two houses. and plus its 40mins to go to work in troy also. But until I get alot more money to afford a beater car the Firebird will do. I cant really complane to much becouse the Firebird has been really good to me during the winter time. This will be the 6th winter she has gone thought.

GET A BEATER. i would highly recommend this option. I started out with a beretta for 1500, and that was 4 years ago. it runs like new. small fixes of around 400 and it still starts everytime. I have upgraded to my truck but my parents took the car since they drive a ton. i would look to get something cheap that can make it through the shitty weather days and has heat. seeing as though I used my 4WD once last year (the day i bought it) I have yet to turn it on. This winter will be the same i expect with a warming climate. fuk, its 55 today haha

as for the TB SS, yah i went to price one out and it was 485 a month. I would say getting the SS would even cost you MORE than your current situation
