I'm never going to have a big enough garage to even have a measurable fraction of all the cars I want.

because they missed the mark with that car.
big powerful engine? check!
rear wheel drive? check!
two doors? check!
sweet interior? check!
sweet exterior?
there's no heritage in that austrailian body, and with the current retro-rage, bringing back a muscle car icon in a conservative body was a big mistake. which is really too bad, because it's a great car otherwise.

Actually they stoped making it, or should I say, importing it here because it dosnt meet Air Bag standards after the 06 model year. It would cost too much money to get it to meet standards, when they can stop making it for a year or two until the all new one comes out.

i wasn't aware... but that doesn't change the fact that they aren't selling well at all.

Hello I am the proud owner of a 2005 GTO and I truly wish automotive critics would get off of my car's back. I think it is a fun and exciting car to drive. Quite the sleeper if I say so myself. Four adults can fit comfortably in my car, can you say that say that about the new Mustang Ford is mass producing? I laughed when I saw the backseat of that car. It makes me sad to see GM quit making such a remarkable car. We'll have to wait and see if GM brings it back in "retro" form here in a few years. From what I have read/heard GM will be basing the Camaro on the same platform as the GTO I have now, going to build it in Adelaide, AUS, the same birth place of my car, (Please correct me if I am wrong :-) ) I have driven and ridden in quite of few powerful cars in my 29 years of life and I must say, I don't see myself parting with this one.
My husband and I attended a car show with my GTO and his Z28 this past weekend at Lake Afton (located to the west of Wichita, KS) and I couldn't believe the number of people crawling all over my car (the only '05 GTO). It's one of 11069 produced in the year 2005, and its the most exciting car I have ever had the privilage to drive, let alone own.
All I can say is don't knock it 'til you drive it!! '[]=

good points, i like my 05, and have had WAY faster cars, it does everything good. if Pontiac made a million v6 GTOs i bet they would have redesigned the airbag, but unlike the mustang, you could only get a v8,leather, independent rear, pwr everything etc, etc. look at the % of base mustang sales to cobra sales ( as the GT isn't even in the same class, power wise or option wise ) cobra: wing or not, chrome wheels or not, car color...GTO: 17's or 18's, stick or manual, car color. 6 CD's all around, leather all over, independent rears, big brakes, 400hp

The trouble with the GTO and Pontiac itself is that almost all the cars they've produced since 97' look pretty close to the Grand Prix style...........Let's see.....GTO, G6, Grand Am all have similar features and styling of the Grand Prix. Pontiac needs to make their models more diverse from each other.........They need to bring back the TA and retro the GTO more along the late 60's to early 70's..... :smt025
