Supposedly it's a Mustang, you can see in one of the pics that the wheels are definitely hubs. It was actually built right here in Troy. A guy on CamaroZ28 saw it when he pulled into the plant, he posted on CamaroZ28 that he saw it and everyone tore him a new one making fun of him saying it wasn't true... few days later the Camaro he saw is posted all over the internet, haha everyone owed him a big appology.
The thing that really gets me going is this -- did Saleen make those body panels, or does GM already have the tooling complete to create the body panels themselves? If they have the tooling complete, well... means they're a heck of a lot further along than anyone imagined. ;) Also, the movie comes out fall of 2007. Do you really think they'd put the new Camaro in a movie when the car wouldn't be out for another year (for the people saying 2009) my bet is still on a limited edition release late fall of 2007 for a 40th anniversary.

I keep reading in magazines that the Camaro will be out a lot sooner than everyone thinks. I agree that the fact that the car is coming out in a movie next summer/fall is a strong indicator that we will see the launch of the car with the movie. If the car comes out next fall that would make it an 08 M.Y. though. Sorry, no 40th anniversary. It has to come out in a few months in order for them to call them 07 M.Y.'s.

I'm not convinced that is a custom by Saleen on a Mustang chassis just yet.
Look at this interior shot of that movie car, sure looks like the Camaro interior to me
here are many more pics of the car:

I really need to start driving by there more often :h Although latly I have noticed they havn't moved to many GT's out of the front part of the shop. Usually you will see a bunch being painted and put together and gone within a week or two. the same few have been sitting in the front part for almost a month prolly last time i drove by which was last week
