Custom painted Z06 induction

I thought the stock unit didn't really fit the vehicle in terms of looks, so I had a little fun with it. Let me know what you guys think.

Definite improvement. That black plastic stuff is hard to keep looking nice. That paint will be easy to keep looking good. Good job on the flags though for sure, that looks great. I would think it would last. shouldn't see very much eat in the air intake tube and it isn't a flexible part really.

I dont trust anything to temperature under the hood. It gets hot under there no matter where the parts are positioned or if air is going through it or not.

actually, wouldnt putting some high temp paint on those components be beneficial (very very little due to the thickness of the paint) in insulating the induction system against engine temperatures?

The intake is well isolated and the paint exceeds the temperatures it will see. The clearcoat will make it easy to clean also.

That rough plastic really is no fun to paint though isn't it? Man, i hated sanding on the intake tube on the T-bird to get it ready when I painted it. Speaking of which, that thing went from the font of the ehgine to the back of it and we sprayed it with normal car enamel. Cheap single stage stuff. No problems with heat at all.
