Checkin' In!

Yup.

Still alive.

Been busy at work - plus I gots me a new project car - a '55 Chrysler.

Based on what I've been seein whilst trollin' Woodward, I think the cops are gonna be pretty harsh this year, so's I went out and bought an oozin-down-the-street ride

Igot me a chrysler
its as big as a whale
and its about to set sail

It's okay - just a project to futz around with and not get tickets for dumpin the clutch comin' outta a parking lot like SOME folks (names need not be mentioned, yes?) Not that I hafta dumpt the clutch to obtain drama in Max the Mach - after swappin' out the DR's for street rubber in the fall, 1st gear is totally useless. Max spins all the way thru 1st and most of second - third's another story...

After the last Lapeer run this year (I beat a 12 sec 44 six pack Super Bee - he wouldn't talk to me afterwards) I figured Max was in the pink of health. Not true. Was mindin' my own biz 1st part of January when 3rd gear went - outta the blue.

Fuck.

That was Trans #2 biting the dust, and NO ONE wants to go under a car that's cold and salty! I've been limpin' with a toasted trans for quite some time now - only got one race in - did a four way with an older M3, a T/A with ghost flames, and a white Mustang.

Actually, I was only tryin' to run the 'stang - did not know that the other guys had lined up. I beat the 'stang, and when we pulled up to talk, the 'stang driver was laughin...

'You beat my buddy in the Trans Am!'

huh? didn't even see him!

Guess a sick Mach that can't hook up can beat a T/A - go figure.

Anyway, I'm bitin' the bullet and adding a Tremec T-56 six speed next weekend (hopefully). The trans is on the garage floor; I'm waitin' for the alloy driveshaft and special crossmember to drop it in. Gonna make some suspension changes and aim for mid 12's this year - not bad for a stock block, normally aspirated mustang! Best of all, the T-56 will handle 500 HP, so's a 175 hit of giggle juice and low 11's are obtainable without grenading the driveline. Someone's gotta keep the fart-tip crowd in line...

From the House of Speed and Chrome,

Chuck.

Chuck.

If the riight parts go in the T-56 you can go WAY beoyond 500hp. Its an amazingly bulletproof trans... how getting the right clutch is another story..

Oh, and its good to see your back, many have asked about you... :smt048
