big boat cars
well now that the 9C1 caprice is out of the shop, in comes the big cars(like that one's not big...)
I'm beginning work on a '68 Lincoln, suicide doors...sick looking car. yanking the uncommon 462 in favor of a 460/E40D since they're more common and much easier to find parts for, bagging it, brake, suspension and steering upgrades, electrical and of course while the engine is out, meticulously cleaning the engine compartment. It's not going to be immaculate but it's going to be dang nice and will turn some heads at shows...the main focus is to make it drivable and reliable(as much as an old boat can be).
Competing with that for my time is a '64 Buick Wildcat, a car of similar proportions with a slightly smaller nailhead engine. Getting that running, playing with some brakes and suspension, electrical and paint/body work(most of that is getting farmed out to a body shop).
Oh and my job is working on aircraft, I do that sometimes too!

I was at practice when they put the posterboard bow, stacks and back on the car... I took one look at it and fell over laughing :h
I was surprised the guys in my JROTC could get so creative!

only if I can turbo it!
brad, I'm not putting a powerjoke in the lincoln. there's a reason there are shops that specialize in removing powerstrokes and installing cummins engines and not vice-versa. the powerstroke tends to have the "paperweight" effect on a truck. another perspective, powerstroke owners can't stop spending money replacing broken computer/wiring/injector issues; cummins guys can't stop spending money on turning our engines up because it's so easy and the engines don't care.
I'm really wanting to find a 60's full size car(read: land barge) to put a turned up Cummins 4BT(4 cylinder, same as the 6 cylinder in the dodges, just two less cylinders) and a built auto trans. It'd be fun and you could almost call it practical!
