searches are a very thin line. this thread is oen bcuz of a talk i had with Ron about another Law enforcement thread. he pointed out some good points. if it gets outa hand of course il close u guys. rotflmao!

they do need PC to search, but if u give them reason to pull you over, i bet they have a reason to search it waiting.they also have access to anything in teh drivers reach. if they see something, that may be suspicious, u can be searched or if you refuse they can bring a dog. theirs so much with searching, i could go on for hours. just drive right, respect the law yada yada yada. granted being pulled over is a hassle, but if you are nice and respectful you will either be let go or given a reduced ticket hopefully.

side note-i would look for any reason to search anyones car. just cuz ur bein nice dont mean you dont have 2lbs of crack under your seat or a 9mm under your right thigh.

stay safe guys/gals

The olny reason I did not start bitching and give those pricks a hard time was because I was infront of my girls greatgrandma's house... I was never pulled over.. I WAS BLOCK IN A DRIVE WAY. No lights were flashing anywhere and they had their guns out. The only reason I was driving a lil fast was because I seen a car with 1 headlight 100 ft back.. and it was still there after driving on 3-5 diff streets so i got scared and sped a lil....

I would of told them to waste the tax payers money and bring the dogs...... The worst they could of got me on was having N20 in the car....

speeding up, trying to lose the car woulda set off a light in my head if i was a cop. it cuts both ways though. head light out, following you.
if it kept following me i would have went to a well lit area, probably a gas station and then more people around. AKA more witnesses if things were gonna go south. i would say you did the right thing though by staying cool. id rather be hassled and let go then argue with cops for them hassling me. whatever, hassle me but let me go at the end. if you feel as though what happened is somehow violating your civil libertires stop in at the MCSO and speak with someone at the front desk. the way this story plays out is really out of protocol for normal patrolling, but seeing as though their were quite a few officers in one car is really out whack. kinda like they mobbed you, the way you tell it.

glad your ok man. stay safe out there

Sorry to hear that tho..

It was Southfield, since the break in was at work Southfield came when it happened so I was doing it with them.

And about them following you, Steve. I would have sped more than a little in that position. If some shady looking car is obviously following me, I'm getting rid of that shit. Wouldn't be easy in the Bronco II, or the Torino now. The Lightning wouldn't have any problem with it though and in the T-bird, it would have been cake. A Vette would get the job done nicely too.

I've been on here for a while, but just stopped posting. I just looked at the site for the first time in months and this thread caught my attention.

First off cops make mistakes. They aren't always right, but when they see something suspicous they are going to do something about it. What if a cop saw something happen that was a little odd, but didn't follow through with it. and it happened to be something bad... the responsibilty would be on their hands.

To the people that got their stuff broken into... one, the cops can't do anything about a break ins if you left your car unlocked. Two, they aren't miricale workers. They aren't going to always catch the bad guys that broke into your house or car. No evidence, they can't really do anything about it.

Another thing, yah, cops are going to judge most the people on this forum cuz you have a nice car. I personally have had my plates ran dozens of times because I drive a Mustang with loud exhaust. I've been sitting a lights with a cop next to me, and the cop waits for me to go so he can run my plates.... while I'm doing nothing wrong. I know they run my plates cuz they go back to work and tell my dad. It happens though, and its just something you have to deal with if your car looks fast. Exactly like that one person said "cops know what you do behind their back"

You really shouldn't bitch at the cops, it just pisses me off when cops missuse their privledges. Our rights are on the line and they should remember that.
