I got a response from another senator

Quote:
Dear Mr. Harding:

Thank you for contacting my office in order to voice your opposition to
Senate Bill 786, which was recently introduced by Senator Deborah
Cherry.

This bill seeks to increase the penalties against individuals who are
in
violation of current Michigan statute regarding "window tinting".
Obstructed views while driving can present a real danger, which is why
the
legislature has addressed this issue in the past and implemented
common-sense laws that protect public safety. This bill, which seeks
to
make a violation of this statute a misdemeanor with increased fines and
the
possibility of jail time, is in my opinion a misguided attempt by some
lawmakers to address an issue, that is in fact, not a serious problem.
Michigan is currently facing significant economic challenges, which is
why
it is important that our focus remain on legislation that is needed,
and
that will move this state forward. Senate Bill 786 still has several
hurdles to clear, in order to traverse the legislative process and
become
law; and please know that it will not have my support should it come
before
me for a vote.

Once again, thank you for contacting me and voicing your opposition to
Senate Bill 786. If I can be of any further service on state matters,
please do not hesitate to call upon me.

Sincerely,

Alan Sanborn
State Senator
11th District

I personally think that the tint laws are stupid now. The cops have new lights that allow them to see threw the tints. Sure it's not as good as a clear window or a lightly tinted window, but it's still not bad from what I saw. The have the powerfull spot lights and now in the light bars there are 2 spots ligts brither than the one on the window that shit in the car. Also they have their mag light, and if they have a problem with those for lighting, get yourself a surefire. :smt023
