Its one of those things that if the muscle car market keeps going insane will start to gain value as some of the currently more desirable cars become unattainable to most people. I don't know about ever buying a car as an investment, but for as cheap as it is, you really can't lose. Hell if it runs it can't take too much more work to drive it in which case its value as a car for transportation is that much.

Well I guess I'm the resident Trans Am Expert since I owned one of those Cars for 7 Yrs

`76 Golden Anniversarry Trans Am's are worth about $15 to $18,000 depending on mileage and condition.
I would have No problem paying 15K for a 50,000 mile original car
But the fact that it is a 455 4spd (you could only get 455's with a 4spd) makes it a Valuable Car and maybe as much as $20,000
And I think like 110 455's had the Hurst T-tops.

If the Car is correct it should have a Y80 or Y81 stamped on the lower right of the Data Plate which is located on the left fender by the hood hinge facing up. :smt025

but...

....any time you find a great deal that your sure there is money to be made on and you can afford to pick it up to start with you should do it. That is how I look at it. Not so much as an investment hoping it jumps in value a lot. It doesn't have to, you're looking at it being so cheap that you could problaby bring it home, turn around and make some cash.

If the Car is solid and needs some TLC and maybe some engine work then it's a good deal. But if it needs a restoration then I would pass because it will cost more to restore it than it is worth.

Unless it's a labor of love and you always wanted one. :smt055
