The new Ecotec for the GXP Solstice

Straight from GM High - Tech......

The new Ecotec for the GXP Solstice will be a Turbocharged 2.0L engine, which pumps out an awsome 2.1 horses per cubic inch.

This engine is a 122ci, and fetures Forged steel crank, forged rods, and forged pistons. The engine has a unique "for-direct-inject" aluminum head, with sodium filled exaust valves. The fuel injectors mount in the head itself, and inject fuel directly into the combustion chambers at much greater pressures, which are over 1,200PSI. This technology is aimed at reaching much better fuel economy, better emissions, and much greater performance over a standard EFI system.

This is all coupled with Variable Valve Timing, a Twin-Scroll Turbo, and an air to air intercooler, which pumps out 260 horspower, and 260 ft-lbs of torque.

The current Solstice weights in at under 3,000 lbs....which will make the GXP a ROCKET......And Just to add that I cannot wait until these come out and what they do when people start modding them :smt023
