Gov. Jennifer Granholm drummed up $34 million in investments for Michigan on the first day of a trade trip to Japan.

Konica Minolta Holdings will invest $13 million to expand newly purchased American Litho, a newspaper printing plate manufacturer in Grand Rapids, creating 81 jobs.

Heavy electrical equipment maker Meiden America will invest $10 million to open a new facility in Michigan. It plans to hire 50 people.

Automotive seating manufacturer Taichi-S plans to expand its engineering facility in Farmington Hills, creating 20 jobs.

Shikoku Cable Co. will expand its sales office in Novi, adding two positions.
